First Aid Kit
My stuff lives in an adventure medical .3 kit but a small ziplock bag would
work just as well. I also have some "survival/repair" items in the bag as well.
Total weight is 3.5oz. So far I haven't run into a situation which my kit hasn't
been adequate. I have provided assistance to others on several occasions.
Knowledge of how to use these items, and improvise using items which aren't in
the first aid kit can make a big difference. Every item on this list has been
used repeatedly. The only thing that I go back and forth on adding is a pair of
surgical gloves which would add something like .7oz.
First Aid Only Items
- a few spyderco second skin bandages.. for blisters
- a number aleve for pain and inflammation
- a number of Tylenol for fever
- a few of aspirin when need to thin blood
- a number antihistamine tablets for allergic reactions
- 2 2x2" gauge sponges to cover large / nasty wound
- a few nexcare waterproof bandaids
- a few single use anti-biotic cream
- a couple antiseptic towelette
- pro-tick remedy
First Aid / Survival / Repair
- single use super glue
- small roll of duct tape
- couple of large safety pins

bottles used for water purification, and in slightly higher concentration to
irrigate nasty wound using a plastic bag with a small hole poked in it.

Group Trips
On group trips when I am responsible for other and I don't
trust that their preparation I bring a lot more.
